Our Thoughts On:
There are some books that just grip the
reader with a burning desire to finish them altogether in one sitting, the
story is gripping, the characters devastatingly rich and intriguing and Unspoken
is exactly one of those books. Brennan delivers a plot churning tale of the
unspoken things that families carry in a small town all the while their
children may be paying for their parents’ sins.
Kami has never been alone, and while she
has a quick wit and snarky attitude, Kami has also never quite fit in. Being
half Japanese in a English countryside is also not easy especially in a small
town steeped in secrets. What Kami Glass also has is someone on her mind, or
really someone else in her head that helps her get through the trials of living
while young and his name is Jared. As the story opens up Kami is starting an
investigative report newspaper at her school and as the rumors fly of the
Lynburn family coming back into their home town of Sorry-in-the-Vale she finds
herself deep in the mystery of the family. When the Lynburn boys begin
attending school with Kami, then soon Kami might find herself more mixed up in
their story and their lives than she had ever imagined.
Unspoken is an engrossing tale of
the devastatingly amazing relationship of Jared and Kami as their future
unfolds before them. Filled with terribly secrets and hidden agendas throughout
their histories Kami and Jared share more than just their mental connection, in
fact, their secrets may have begun before their birth. What was so captivating
about this plot was that it was full of twists and turns filled with great
snarky repertoire of the characters and the interactions that the characters
had together was fun and engaging. As
the story unfolds readers are tossed into the game of consequences and the
finish will blow you away.
With the prospect of more of the Lynburn
Legacy about in the years to come I am seriously exciting to see what future
books bring to the table, because Unspoken is a story not to be
missed. There has not been a book this much fun and jaw dropping all year
steeped in such mystery and magic.
