Reading Is Fundamental is essential to early literacy in the US.
This program was running in our schools until the budget cuts and this year we are without RIF. Every year RIF send two different books into kids hands and it was an amazing experience to be a part at handing out these copies to students for the three years I participated in the program. I know my kids were always ecstatic to see the tables filled with age appropriate reads.
RIF is able to put books into the hands of kids who may not otherwise own their own books at home. With impoverished families all over our communities, books may end up at the bottom of the importance list. Literacy is essential for children's developmental and social growth.
RIF partnered with various groups and singers to produce this awesome new video and song that was recently released and shared. In our house we love it.
