Kelley Armstrong brings us into a new series with this first book, The Gathering. Maya is an adopted daughter with a missing past except for a strange paw print birthmark that has a past. Maya has a affinity for animals and creates her own haven for injured park creatures in her yard. Currently cougars are appearing all around her, which is concerning to her park ranger father. The story revolved around a secluded private town in Washington that is owned by a medical research facility that is crawling with mysterious investigations.
This is a great opening into the series. I love Kelley Armstrong's characters and this book was great to read. The writing was smooth and fluid. I loves the dialog and the sense of place in the book and descriptions were great to feel in being a part of it.
Once finished I cannot wait for the next book.
