Giveaway entry for TodaysMama

There is a great giveaway happening over at Today'sMama where they are giving away a whole pile of goodies from Gamestop. Here is our entry.

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

TodaysMama (link to: http://bit.ly/tmwishlist) and GameStop (link to:http://bit.ly/gamestop10) are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?

The holiday wish that I have for my family this year: is being happy. There is so much stuff out there that makes us want so much, so for this year, I would like us to just be happy. Happy with ourselves, our bodies, our abilities, our limitations, our stuff, and happily just being who we are. As all of our kids are getting older and becoming teens and changing schools, life just gets more complicated, and our simple child dreams are changing.

So happiness.

2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?

We polish off all those cookies that Santa did not finish. Then we make a scavenger hunt for the stockings so the kids have to work for their treats ;)

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?

Santa I would love a huge Barnes and Noble giftcard. I promise that I tried to be really good, and I am not sure that I would want to hop up on your lap for it, but I would like a hug gift card for books. Really I would use it for good. Or how about a lifetime of new releases in several genres?

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?

We make our own Christmas ornaments. I have 8 years saved up and we pick the favorites and put them on our living tree for the tear. Then on our previous live trees that are planting around the property, we decorate little feeders for the birds.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?

Life, Monopoly, Battleship, and Risk. Those were the main games, but now that I am supposed to not advocate cheating, they seem much harder to play. It was way more fun cheating with my brother.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?

Advent calenders. We do not use the candy ones, like when I was a kid, but these cute playmobil calenders with animals in them for all the kids.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?

I would tell the family to meet me someplace warm. Come on guys, lets go to the Bahamas!

8. Check out GameStop (link to: http://bit.ly/gamestop10) and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?
