My Thoughts On:

Angels have wings, they are good but there are some that are fallen and they are bad. Some Angels are blood thirsty, and other invisible or others are smoking hot. These are some truths about angels that we would love to hold self evident, but sometimes we may find in the world that some held beliefs are false and everything we thought we knew is only held up by interpretation or assumption. Embrace takes the angel myth and pushes that into its own elements with a middle ground that will captivate readers into the plight on one girl, named Violet Eden.
Violet is turning 17 and while that may be an occasion for most teens, for Violet is a reminder that her birth was also her mother’s death and that soon a deadly secret will be opening up her world to greater things than she ever imagined in only a few unknown hours. Violet only wanted a low key birthday but what she receives at 17 is a late night dream vision of angel telling her she has a choice in this world, yet also not informing her of what it was all about. Soon Violet feels betrayed by the closest person in her life, a boy named Lincoln, who has hidden a monumental truth from her. Violet’s world soon turns upside down and everything she thought she felt in life is going to turn upside down, and leave her feeling lost and a little alone in one of her greatest times of need.
Jessica Shirvington has taken some fantastical elements and twisted the histories of celestial beings and their fallen counterparts into a whole new reality that will captivate readers.
While I am not so thrilled with the love triangle aspect in many books today I have to say that I am still rooting for the fallen angel Phoenix. I loved Phoenix’s character and even though, like an alpha male he betrayed Violet and yet still has a yearning for her, I enjoyed his character and what strength it imparted into the character’s story. While Lincoln is another love of Violet’s life, I enjoyed the special abilities Phoenix gave into Violet and his voice and story in the book. Some readers enjoy the main love of the heroine, but I find that there is a great truth and mystery into what the broken characters add to the book while they are selfish but also hungering for a greater good other than their own damaging results. I hope to see more of Phoenix in Enticed.

Blurb From The Publisher:

It starts with a whisper: “It’s time for you to know who you are…”
Violet Eden dreads her seventeenth birthday. After all, it’s hard to get too excited about the day that marks the anniversary of your mother’s death. As if that wasn’t enough, disturbing dreams haunt her sleep and leave her with very real injuries. There’s a dark tattoo weaving its way up her arms that wasn’t there before.
Violet is determined to get some answers, but nothing could have prepared her for the truth. The guy she thought she could fall in love with has been keeping his identity a secret: he’s only half-human—oh, and same goes for her.
A centuries-old battle between fallen angels and the protectors of humanity has chosen its new warrior. It’s a fight Violet doesn’t want, but she lives her life by two rules: don’t run and don’t quit. When angels seek vengeance and humans are the warriors, you could do a lot worse than betting on Violet Eden…

Love this series. Read all four books in three days , couldn't put them down. Just got done reading Endless. Couldn't stop crying at the end. This is a great series. Can't wait for the next book.
