Review: Working Stiff

Working Stiff (Revivalist, #1)Working Stiff

My Thoughts On:

First Impression- I did not know what to expect from Working Stiff, but what I found was a new heroine and a new series to love. I have read prior books by this accomplished author, she has several series to choose from, but with the turn to the undead I was unprepared for how well I enjoyed this book. Rachel Caine has turned the business of turning people into a high priced commodity and also into a weapon.

Bryn Davis is looking for a new kind of life and a new career in all of the dead of places. Rachel Caine has created a fresh new series that gives life after death to a price. While her first day on the job at at funeral home has left burn in the middle of a drug run gone bad and on a metal slab dead, her life is only going to happen to get more unbelievable and complicated. With a great cast of characters, a whole new view on the walking dead and a snarky fresh heroine in Bryn Davids readers will get caught up on the conspiracy and the action filling Working Stiff.

Book Blurb from the Publisher:

Bryn Davis knows working at Fairview Mortuary isn't the most glamorous career choice, but at least it offers stable employment--until she discovers her bosses using a drug that resurrects the clientele as part of an extortion racket. Now, Bryn faces being terminated--literally, and with extreme prejudice.
Wit the help of corporate double-agent Patrick McCallister, Bryn has a chance to take down the bigger problem--pharmaceutical company Pharmadene, which treats death as the ultimate corporate loyalty program. She'd better do it fast, before she becomes a zombie slave--a real working stiff. She'd be better off dead..
