It's always been just Kate and her mom—and her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.

Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld—and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.

Kate is sure he's crazy—until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.

My Review:

The Goddess Test brings us into a present day reality where the story of Persephone comes to life.

After being tricked by an unfavorable girl at school, our main character, Kate, makes a pledge to the world to save a girl after and accident during a river jump. What Kate does not realize is that the universe in the form of Henry was listening and he is in need if a bargain also.

Several times Kate is given the option to take back her deal with death only she soon realizes the consequences are too high on not only her side, but also upon Henry's as well.

Living with Henry also comes the Tests to see if she is partner material for Henry. Henry needs someone to help him ease the souls of the dead into the afterlife, and soon will be dismissed/deceased unless Kate passes an array on unbelievable tests that the Gods will soon be administering to her.

Kate chooses to take the tests set upon her by the Gods while living at Henry's massive home that caters to the living as well as the dead. Will Kate be able to pass the tests and help Henry secure his place upon the gods in his family, on Kate, and upon the world?

Readers will be quickly drawn into this story as the author creates an amazing world that is going alongside our own the we are tied by fate to.

Amy Carter creates these well written and described characters that we quickly fall in love with. The progression of the story is well written and the character's interactions are great. There are a few great twists in The Goddess Test that will keep you reading: warning you may loose a night due to your inability to put this book down.

Are you ready for the tests instore for you?
