Series Spotlight: October Daye

October Daye Series
By Seanan McGuire
Released by DAW

For months I have had the entire October Daye series staring back at me from my bookshelves and I finally delved into the story; and wanted to smack myself in the process for not having read it sooner!
McGuire has created a world running alongside our own that is dangerous, power hungry and at the cusp of change. While the humans go about their daily business, unbeknownst to them is the realm of fairies and the Summerlands and knows kept secret behind walls, or mazes. Mainly set in San Francisco, California, the October Daye Series spreads a story far and wide centering on a handful of characters that will make or break your heart as they struggle to survive the challenges that come before them.
Every day October Daye is finding something new about her world, or something is crumbling down around her. Having magic comes at a price and the price that October “Toby” Daye has paid has been high and mighty indeed throughout the series. Finding new aspects about herself and her past is only the beginning for the stunning and cunning heroine in Toby, while struggling to save others she is also struggling to save herself.
With a cast friends that will grip your heartstrings and pages full of snarky dialog, and dangerous adventures, the October Daye series is a fantastic Urban Fantasy read that will capture readers into this alternate San Francisco that pushed the limits of what you thought may have been weird about California. The plot keeps building which each new book in the series and develops into something truly captivating.
