Matched by Ally Condie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
With all of the buzz around Matched, I could not wait to get my hands on a copy, so upon its release I beheld its glory.
The first 1/4 of the book I was not impressed. The writing was good but the plot had some back in it but did not feel as thrilling as the reviews were making it to be. I was apprehensive.
Then IT TOOK OFF.
Holy frijole!
Dude the peeps out there are totally correct in their statement that MATCHED rocks the books this winter.
With all the ads that are coming out about this grouping of top five released this last part of the year, I was not sure what to expect, but they are all amazing.
Matched tells of a future dystopia society that basically breeds in complacency and their order. A young girl is basically unknowingly dropped into an experiment, say as you will, and the plot progresses.
The characters are amazing. Their hidden, repressed lives, feelings, and views are really breathtaking. The author is creating this amazing world and complex society and we watch as it begins to unravel in a way.
The love drama is heated, secreted.
Matched took me by surprise and is climbing in my reader love for it.
Totally go pick up a copy. The only sad thing is waiting until next year for the second part. Uhhhh waiting it such bittersweet agony!
